Ms. Havelka is an accredited Suzuki violin instructor with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and a dedicated music educator with an extensive teaching career spanning New York City and Washington, D.C.
At Frederick Talent Education, Ms. Havelka’s private studio, students thrive in a positive and supportive environment that fosters both musical and personal growth. With a structured approach, they develop a strong technical foundation in violin and music theory while cultivating essential life skills such as curiosity, resilience, problem-solving, and empathy.
Ms. Havelka believes that the discipline and creativity honed through long-term musical study lay the foundation for success in all aspects of life.
Ms. Havelka earned her Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and received her Suzuki training at The School for Strings in New York City under the guidance of Louise Behrend. Her violin studies included mentorship from distinguished artists such as David Nadien, Ruggiero Ricci, Carroll Glenn, Robert Gerle, and Samuel Kissel—a student of Dounis and member of Toscanini’s NBC Symphony. Her chamber music studies were with Artur Balsam, Robert Newkirk, and the Stuttgart Trio.
Ms. Havelka received extensive orchestral training including participation in the National Orchestral Association of NYC under Leon Barzin, serving as concertmaster for the Manhattan School Opera Orchestra under Anton Coppola, and being an award recipient at the Congress of Strings.
Ms. Havelka discovered her passion for teaching at The School for Strings, where she completed a two-year Suzuki Teacher Training Course and later served as a faculty member. She also taught at notable institutions such as:

As a freelance violinist, Ms. Havelka has performed extensively in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Greensboro, NC. Her professional orchestral engagements include:
Her career as a sought-after symphonic musician included regular performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, Broadway, and PBS recording projects.
Following a hiatus to explore IT, graphic design, and video production, Ms. Havelka is delighted to return to her lifelong calling as a violin educator.
With a wealth of experience, not only as both a performer and an educator, Ms. Havelka remains dedicated to inspiring young musicians. Through structured yet nurturing instruction, she helps students develop both technical proficiency and a lifelong love for music.
