With over 20 years of experience, I offer expert violin instruction for students ranging from eager young beginners to dedicated adult learners. About Carol Havelka

Additional studies at The Juilliard School, School for Strings (NYC), and University of Maryland
Carol Havelka is a seasoned violin educator and performer with extensive training in both Suzuki and traditional methodologies. She is certified through Book 10 with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, a level of training not commonly found among instructors in the Frederick/Urbana region. Her Suzuki training includes work with renowned teacher-trainers Louise Behrend (Two-Year Teacher Certificate, School for Strings), Ronda Cole, David Strom, Terry Durbin, and Dr. Shu-Yi Scott.
A dedicated teacher and lifelong learner, Carol studied violin with David Nadien, Carroll Glenn, Robert Gerle, Samuel Kissel, Ruggerio Ricci, Walter Verdehr and Helmut Braunlich, bringing a rich blend of pedagogical insight and performance experience to her studio.
She has performed extensively in a variety of venues (orchestra, chamber, Broadway, jazz/pop backup orchestra, PBS & other recording ) as a freelance symphonic violinist on the East Coast including New York City, Washington, D.C., and Greensboro, North Carolina.
